As many of you know, 2021 marked the 20th anniversary of CIRMMT! To mark this achievement, a series of celebration events and concerts had been planned for May, 2021. Like many events last year, however, these plans were inevitably sidelined due to the pandemic. Throughout this period of limited in-person activities, our team was busy filming videos of performances by musicians originally meant to perform in the 2020-2021 live@CIRMMT series. These videos were all shot in the Multimedia Room (MMR), which was at that time undergoing the finishing series of renovations funded by the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI).
In May 2022, CIRMMT will be hosting its first international conference, Le son du futur/Le futur du son, which will bring together CIRMMT's research community for a series of in-person discussions, presentations, and concerts, and in many ways will feel like the true 20th anniversary celebration! This conference aims to bring experts together, to share their most recent advancements and reflect collectively upon the most likely challenges of tomorrow that could be tackled by interdisciplinary research.
In anticipation of Le son du futur/Le futur du son, CIRMMT will be releasing the live@CIRMMT 20th Anniversary videos shot in the MMR last year. Each video will premiere at 4:00 p.m. EST on Wednesdays, starting April 20th.
