Electronic Improvisation
Trained as a saxophonist, David Caulet's artistic career has led him to explore several musical cultures. Ska, punk, salsa and funk in the 1990s, followed by jazz, improvised music and electronic music at the turn of the 2000s. Strongly guided by an improvised performance approach, his creative work is influenced by these various currents and navigates around this musical crossroads. Through a number of projects, he has collaborated and recorded with musicians such as J.F. Oliver, O. Lété, C. Lété, D. Fournier, R. Bottlang, R. Charmasson, G. Pansanel... Now based in Montreal, he is enrolled in the “Composition et création sonore” doctoral program at the Université de Montréal, and has devoted himself almost exclusively to electronic music and composition in recent years.
