General Assembly and Student Symposium
The General Assembly is an annual meeting open to CIRMMT Regular, Collaborator, and Student members. It is an opportunity for the Director to report on highlights from the previous year, and welcome any questions or feedback from members.
The Student Symposium is an annual event, and since 2019 has been held as a joint event with Montréal institutions BRAMS (International laboratory for Brain, Music and Sound Research) and OICRM (Observatoire interdisciplinaire de création et de recherche en musique). This joint symposium has been rebranded as COBS (CIRMMT-OCIRM-BRAMS Symposium). Each institution rotates with hosting the event, and representatives from each institution help with its organization. Students present their recent work in the form of oral presentations, poster presentations, demos or performances. Proposals are chosen in order to present a broad picture of the three centres' research, from musical compositions to computational algorithms.
